The problem I have with these is they effectively use S3 as block storage, and this concerns me, as it makes it difficult to retrieve individual files. I've looked at some systems that say they can do this, such as Amazon Storage Gateway and SoftNAS. Need to keep hot data on site (max of about 1-2TB), whilst the rest is stored in the Cloud, but a copy of all files should be sent off to a separate archive, so even if a file is deleted from the Storage Gateway, there is still a copy in archive.
